Leadership Essentials: Innovating
Innovation is the practical application of creativity in an organisation, and organisations must adapt constantly and exploit new opportunities through innovation if they are to ensure their survival and growth in an ever-changing business environment. Successful innovation builds on an idea in an incremental and efficient manner to solve a problem or develop a new product, service or process, and, at a basic level, innovation can be categorised as ‘incremental’ or ‘radical’.
‘Leadership Essentials: Innovating’ provides an overview of why innovation is essential for leadership capability and includes ‘Top Tips’ on how you can become a better leader through innovation.
The Essentials leaflet is supported by three Spotlights that look at innovation in more detail to help you improve your leadership skills:
- What is Innovation?
- Managing Innovation
- Continuous Improvement
