How do I qualify for membership
Anyone can join at Community grade, but you could qualify for a professional grade (Associate, Member and Fellow) if you meet certain criteria i.e. have management experience or military experience or specific qualifications or have completed an Institute Approved programme.
The criteria for each professional grade is different, so find out which grade is right for you.
Does The Institute offer career advice?
The MyCareers portal gives you unlimited access to a hub of career information and advice, plus tools and resources to support you on your journey.
In addition, our MyMentoring platform will match you to one of our mentors who will help you to grow and develop professionally.
How can I pay for membership?
We offer most forms of payment including Direct Debit, Credit Card, BACs or invoice

What is the difference between The Institute of Leadership and ILM?
The Institute of Leadership is a professional body specialising in professional membership and programme accreditation for those looking to provide exceptional leadership and management training.
The ILM is a brand owned by the awarding organisation City and Guilds.
I'm doing a qualification with ILM, how do I activate studying membership?
If you are studying for an ILM qualification you get a free membership.

What is the difference between a qualification and accreditation?
A qualification is an award achieved after completing a programme or course that is regulated under the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF)
An accreditation is the validation or approval of a programme or course by an external body with professional expertise in the learning content.
Does The Institute of Leadership offer qualifications?
The Institute of Leadership does not offer qualifications, however as an accrediting body with sector-specific expertise in leadership and management, courses accredited by The Institute of Leadership develop key competencies in leadership and management for professional development and career advancement.
