Leadership Essentials: Social Responsibility
Organisations are primarily responsible to their shareholders and stakeholders. The interdependence of organisations, society and the environment gives rise to a number of broader responsibilities to society in general. These responsibilities are both internal (for example, fair wages, safe working conditions) and external (for example, contributing to community projects), and are usually referred to as Corporate Social Responsibilities (CSR).
‘Leadership Essentials: Social Responsibility’ provides an overview of why social responsibility is essential for leadership capability and includes ‘Top Tips’ on how an understanding of social responsibility can help you become a better leader.
The Essentials leaflet is supported by three Spotlights that look at social responsibility in more detail to help you improve your leadership skills:
- Ethical Supply Chain Management
- Corporate Social Responsibility
- Corporate Citizen
