Who is entitled to the Armed Forces free membership offer?
Anyone leaving the UK Armed Forces.
How can The Institute tell if an individual meets the criteria for the offer?
Once you have applied, the membership team will contact you and ask you about your leaving dates, to check that these meet the criteria of the offer.
Is this an international offer?
This offer is currently only for UK Armed Forces, you may however be living/serving overseas.
Will a reservist leaving the forces be eligible for the Free membership?
No, the offer is only open to full-time serving personnel, who are leaving the forces. However, all serving and ex-military personnel receive £10 discount off our standard membership fees.
Do I get a certificate with membership?
Yes, you get a certificate and sharable digital credential with all professional grades (Associate, Member and Fellow).
Does The Institute offer career advice?
The MyCareers portal gives you unlimited access to a hub of career information and advice, plus tools and resources to support you on your journey.
In addition, our MyMentoring platform will match you to one of our mentors who will help you to grow and develop professionally.
How can I pay for membership?
We offer most forms of payment including Direct Debit, Credit Card, BACs or invoice

Does The Institute of Leadership offer qualifications?
The Institute of Leadership does not offer qualifications, however as an accrediting body with sector-specific expertise in leadership and management, courses accredited by The Institute of Leadership develop key competencies in leadership and management for professional development and career advancement. What is the difference between a qualification and accreditation?
A qualification is an award achieved after completing a programme or course that is regulated under the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF)
