Leadership Project: Grant Fund 2026

The Institute of Leadership Launches Leadership Project: Grant Fund 2026 to Power the Future of Leadership in UK Charities

The Institute of Leadership has announced the opening of applications for its 2026 Grant Fund, a major initiative designed to unlock bold ideas and strengthen leadership capability across the UK’s charity and not-for-profit sector.

With grants of up to £10,000 available, the fund aims to support innovative projects that build leadership skills, foster collaboration and deliver lasting impact in communities nationwide.

At a time when organisations face increasing complexity and demand, The Institute is placing leadership at the heart of sustainable change. The Grant Fund is a cornerstone of this mission, helping leaders turn ideas into action, ambition and measurable outcomes.

“Great leadership doesn’t just strengthen organisations, it changes lives,” said John Mark Williams, CEO of The Institute of Leadership. “Through this fund, we’re investing in the people and ideas that will shape stronger communities and a better future.”

Empowering Purpose-Driven Organisations

The Leadership Grant Fund is open to Associates, Members and Fellows of The Institute who are part of UK-registered charities or not-for-profit organisations. Successful applicants will receive funding to develop and deliver projects that advance leadership and demonstrate measurable impact.

Projects will be assessed against key criteria, including alignment with the Institute's mission, potential impact, sustainability, and innovation, ensuring that funding supports initiatives capable of delivering real and lasting change.

Beyond financial support, recipients will benefit from increased visibility and national recognition, with their work showcased across The Institute’s platforms, amplifying their reach and influence.

Building a Movement for Better Leadership

The Grant Fund reflects The Institute’s wider vision: a world shaped by skilled, ethical and adaptable leaders. With a global community of over 50,000 members, the organisation continues to champion great leadership as a force for good across every sector.

Previous recipients have delivered impactful projects ranging from youth leadership programmes to community-based initiatives, demonstrating the transformative potential of targeted investment in leadership development.

Applications for the 2026 Leadership Grant Fund are now open.
