A web account is a free online account that allows you to log in to our website, manage your details, book spaces at free events and apply for membership with us.
If you'd like to become a member, you'll also need to complete an application form.

Understanding Your Account
What is the difference between a web account and having a membership?
I already have an IoL membership, but I can't access my account
If you joined us before November 2025, you'll need to re-register and create a new web account following the launch of our new website.
This will allow you to log in to your membership. Once logged in, you'll be able to access your member benefits.
How do I know whether I have a web account or a membership?
If you've only created a web account, you'll have received an account activation email from us, but you won't have received a membership welcome email.
Once logged into your membership portal, you will also be unable to see member benefits.
If you are a member, once you have paid for your membership, you'll receive a welcome email introducing you to your membership. You'll also be able to view and access all your benefits when logged into your member portal (as below).
How do I access the membership portal and manage my details?
You can access your membership portal by logging in to the website and clicking on your name in the top right corner.
Alternatively, access your portal directly below.
I've already registered, how do I apply for membership?
After registering login to your account and head to the website navigation. Under Membership, select Apply for Membership (or click below). You'll then be able to select your preferred membership grade and complete your application.
I don't think I've registered for an account. How do I do this?
Follow the steps below to register and activate your account.
Why does my account say I'm a non-member?
If your account is showing as a non-member, it's likely that your professional membership has expired.
To renew your membership, please contact our Membership Team by phone on +44(0)1543 266886) or by email. A member of the team will be able to take your payment and reinstate your membership.
Register & Activate Your Account
Step 1: Register for an account
To register for a new account, you'll need to complete a short registration form.
Head to Apply today in the top-right corner of our website or click below to get started. Once you have completed the form, click verify to submit your details.
If you're already a member, please register using the same email address that's linked to your current membership. This will ensure your membership is connected to your new web account.
Step 2: Activate your account
After you've submitted your details, you'll receive an email prompting you to activate your account.
Follow the link in the email to activate. You'll then be asked to create a password.
Step 3: Access your account
Once you've submitted your password, log in with your email and password and you'll be able to access your membership portal and apply for membership.
